GRAPHIC POSTER

'To 2025 and Beyond' is a poster I designed in undergrad at ECU. It features the numbers '25' (for the year) stacked on top of each other and mirrored to create a strange, uncanny valley effect. Much like the future of design, the main forms of the poster are familiar yet strange; you can't quite make out what it is despite your best attempts. Despite this, you do what you can, and you design for the future, today. 

Initial prototypes

I knew that 2025 felt like a significant year for me personally entering my senior year, and for design at large with AI being an actual competitor for artists. So, I knew I wanted to highlight that fact in my design; what better to start than to use the numbers ‘25’.

I liked the 2 and the 5 stacked on top of each other vertically, but I craved for more visual interest and meaning, so I flipped it. I inverted the image to create something strange and new, much like how the future of design may look to us now. Now, it became about searching for a solid color scheme.

FINAL design

I actually reached my final color scheme relatively early, but I wanted to exhaust as many other possibilities as I could just to be sure. Alas, there it was; a high contrast red, black, white and a touch of yellow. To 2025 and Beyond!
